Auguste Delaherche
Designer Biography
1857 — 1940
French ceramicist Auguste Delaherche was a major figure in the renewal of artistic stoneware around 1900. His restrained organic forms and subtle glazes helped shift French ceramics toward the expressive qualities of clay itself. His work is held by the Musée d’Orsay and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
