Afra & Tobia Scarpa

1935

Tobia Scarpa, an architect and designer, completed his education in 1969 at the University of Venice. In the same year, he achieved the prestigious “Compasso d’Oro” award for his “Soriana” armchair, which he designed for Cassina. Since then, he has received numerous other design awards, and many of his creations are featured in renowned museums worldwide. Notably, his ‘Libertà’ chair is showcased at the Louvre. Scarpa has served as an architect for both public and private clients, with one of his notable projects being the design of the industrial area and production facilities in Castrette di Villorba (Treviso) for the Benetton Group. Even today, these Benetton facilities stand as a pinnacle of aesthetic and functional excellence, representing some of the most captivating industrial architecture in the world.
